Cycling
The Mad River Valley is a mecca in the summer for road cyclists. Light traffic, well-paved roads, and the lush green unspoiled beauty of the Mad River Valley set the stage for some of the finest cycling anywhere. Routes vary from relatively flat rolling hills to double gaps. Bike groups, families and friends are always welcome at the Hyde Away Inn.
The Hyde Away is proud to host the Mad River Valley Century Ride, dubbed "Coolest Century" by Bicycle magazine. And don’t forget the Green Mountain Stage Race held Labor Day weekend featuring some of the top cyclists in the country.
Kayaking & Canoeing
The Mad River Valley is a central location for kayaking and canoeing. Various locations are nearby or within a short driving distance: the Mad River, Winooski River, Green River and Lake Champlain. They offer everything from pristine uninhabited islands, miles from civilization, to Class IV whitewater to challenge any adrenalin junkie.

Hiking
You’ll find a variety of hiking and walking trails — the Long Trail, back country roads, and the Mad River Recreation Path, which follows the meandering course of the Mad River. For a bit of a challenge, try the steep hike to Burnt Rock (subject of local celeb Grace Potter’s song).
Warren 4th of July
The Warren 4th of July is one of Vermont’s largest individual 4th of July celebrations. A parade with floats, music on the balcony of the Warren store, food, and fun for kids at Brooks Field make the Warren 4th a great time for all.

Weddings
The Mad River Valley is host to many weddings throughout the summer months. Some couples that wed in the Valley met at the Hyde Away. Many others join us for rehearsal dinners and other gatherings for their wedding group. For more information about weddings and related services, go to Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce and www.vermontweddings.com.
Massage
Mad River Massage is a well established practice offering therapeutic massage for relaxation or rehab. Enjoy your session outside in their private setting alongside the floral gardens next to the river, or inside their airconditioned studio. Able to accommodate large groups your place or theirs! — 496-5638
